Solution

Vamos was founded to solve this mismatch by aggregating half a million events in any big city in the world. Then by using machine learning, a simple app and web UI on top of a clever algorithm that matched people’s preferences with the right events, Vamos simplified the journey from not knowing what to do – to being in the know – and easily getting access.

David was one of 3 co-founders and served as a hybrid CMO / CPO, and helped implement the design and used data-driven hands-on tactical techniques including ASO, SEO, CRM, CPI campaigns, app features and PR to lift the user base from 0 in its inception to 2M people at the exit. Viktor helped the team redesign the entire brand, product and customer touchpoints.

App Stores and Search Engine Optimisation

Looking beyond the typical analysis of keyword, title, metatags and keyword optimisation, Vamos wanted to rank high on “event in [city]” where the search volumes where high. By creating a standalone web page that aggregated all current events for each major city in the world and optimising for those kind of searches, we managed to drive tens-of-thousands of visitors to the site every month.

We also realised that people were using the same behaviour on the web, searching for events in cities on the App Store and Google Play, so we made sure to localise the applications to 20 languages and optimised for the biggest cities in those markets. This resulted in thousands of organic downloads per month of the app.
